Wen Xiao Tong: Volunteering at the summer camp really helped a
sponsor like me to better understand the children. They are more than just
names on paper; they are living, breathing human beings. We had the chance to
visit some of their homes, to learn about their daily life and what are
important to them too.
For the children, summer camp offers the opportunity to experience
love and care from the sponsors. They realize that Peach is their extended
family who offers more than only money to them. It is this kind of love that
helps these children to continue their study.
Chih Wang: Peach Summer Camp and the overall support to
these children has truly changed thousands of lives.
At the same time, the summer camp also provides volunteers with a great
opportunity to devote one’s efforts to help. The trust and love of these
children made us realize how much more we benefit from them in comparison to
what we offer to them.
Michelle Huang& Ken Chou: Charity work should be more than just
the support of money; it should include the support of soul. Peach is doing
both.
Coco Wang: These Peach students have so little compared to
us who grew up in the city. They are so appreciative of everything they
receive from us: a simple instruction, a little assistance, or just a brief
time to chat.
Anchi Ou: When the children in my class shared
what they learned and how they felt about the one-week experience of the
summer camp, it felt like all my hard work paid off. I said to myself, “It is totally worth it.”
Louise Chen: Not only does my work with Peach help the
children, but it also helps myself to gain valuable
experience like public speaking and how to be more confident.
Zhang Qian
Liang: To care for the
children, it begins with me and begins with Peach.
Daniel Hsu: We invited several Peach students who already
graduated from college to join us during this Summer Camp and share their
struggles and successes with the campers. Their words were extremely powerful
to the younger children, and also helped us to encourage these children to
never give up.
Ivon Mao: It is extremely rewarding to witness the changes
that took place in the children. They went from very shy to open and happy,
filled with confidence for their future.
Wang Kun: Peach is a family with love. It has many
children, who are very talented but unable to truly express themselves. I
wish more people would join this amazing family.
Han Mei: Peach Summer Camps helped not only these children
by bringing sunshine and hope to them, but also helped myself by giving me
the opportunity to learn from these children. I learned to stay strong in
difficult times and I would like to thank Peach for giving me this
opportunity to further myself.
Wen Yue: Learning is a two-way street in this
summer camp. I learned so much while teaching these children. At the same
time, I felt their deepest desire to learn and to be loved. They are all
excellent students academically with strong characters. It is truly my
privilege to be able to help them.
Yvette Liu: I have received so much more than I was able to
offer to the children.
Nicholas Gouw: An enriching and eye opening
experience that has changed me for the better. Attending and participating in
the camp has taught me just how fortunate I am and how responsible I am to
help and assist others less fortunate than I.
Michelle Tai: In one week’s time, I noticed that each of my
student blossomed. The Peach program enriched each student’s life through a
well-thought out curriculum that includes English, Chinese, EQ and music.
Adult teachers and teenage teachers also benefitted from Peach. A special
bond was developed between teachers and student. I noticed deep connection
was also made between the teenage teachers. All in all, as this week comes to
an end, I am optimistic for the future of these underprivileged children. I
am grateful to Peach for their work and for allowing me to touch upon these
students’ lives. Thank you Peach.
Sydney Hsu: I Really enjoyed teaching English to the students
and playing games with them. Peach helps these kids open their minds and take
the opportunity to be successful.
Karen Gronowski: Very profound experience, life
changing for both the Chinese students and the teachers from abroad.
Ivy Chang: You have to come to experience in person, the
rewards are beyond wording.
Yu-Shing Ni: It’s been so rewarding seeing these
kids grow, learn, and improve through Peach Foundation. They are full of fun,
courage, and brilliance that must be encouraged.
Yu-Shien Ni: Peach is such a wonderful program, it
allows both the students and the teachers to grow into more confident, more
patient, and more knowledgeable individuals.
Marina Yao: It is a rewarding summer camp for both the
teachers and students. Very well organized and would definitely come back.
Chan Chiu: It’s very encouraging to see kids turn from very
little confidence to open up their heart with trust and confidence.
Eric Yang: It was amazing, it like Peach. They should get
more teenage teachers.
Emma Li: I felt a sense of achievement as I watched my
students gain both knowledge and confidence.
Anonymous: If you can change just one child’s life with your
teaching, all of your effort is totally worthwhile.
