Dear Aunt Jeng,
How are you! I have received the gloves and socks and other pieces of warm clothes from you. Thank you! I feel extremely warm when I put them on. My parents are very moved when they learned about this. They urged me to write you quickly to thank you. But I don't know what to say.
It is very cold during winter in FuHeng, especially in the morning. Every morning, we hope that sun will shine on our table and sprinkle the warm sunshine on our little hands. But during winter, sun is no match to the cold wind that sneaks in through the windows and the crack of the door. The warm clothes you have sent will keep me warm.
Aunt Jeng, I'd like to tell you something that makes me happy. After I came back from summer camp, I told my family about the help PEACH gave me. My father's attitude towards me has changed. Last time I told my family that I wanted to go to school, my father told me he did not care about me going and would not help me. But recently this year he actually came to attend my PTA meeting. Is it wonderful! Moreover, the relationship between my father and I have improved. In the past, we had opposite ideas on everything. For example, I think that going to school was a good idea. But my father thought it was useless. He argued that no one could find a job by going to school. In addition, the parents had to pay for books and living expenses; and the child would not work. We always fight with each other to prove that our own view is right. I understand my father's viewpoints. He just wanted me to work to make money, to help build a big house, to help my brother get married. Afterward, he will marry me off and their parental responsibility will be fulfilled. But I had different ideas and wanted to go to school. Naturally he was not very happy. He told me that he doesn't care about me. I just wanted to go to school and hoped that he would support me. Fortunately, after returning from the summer camp, he changed his mind. He said that there are still some advantages in going to school. At least, one can go places and see the outside world. My parents are over 40 years old, and they have not even been to Yangbi (small city nearby). I can use the financial aid from PEACH for my tuition and school supplies. My parents only need to provide living expenses. Finally, my father no longer objects me going to school. Thanks for your help! My father may never forgive me if I didn't get your help. Now, I can study at ease.
Aunt Jeng, you have taught us how to prevent cold. It works. I have only had cold once this semester, and it was mild and did not affect my study. In the past, I got cold every semester. This semester I can say that I am very healthy. Thank you! Many people told me that I'm lucky. I also think I'm lucky indeed, very lucky. I met you just when I started middle school. I am very grateful to you and my head teacher. If he did t not introduce me to you, I would not be able to get your help. Without your help, I would definitely have dropped out of school after graduating from middle school. With your help and my father's support, it is no longer a dream for me to go to high school.
