I am from a village in Lashi Town, Yulong County, Yunnan province. I am still a student of 9th grade and soon I’ll start the examinations. The financial condition at home isn’t good, I don’t know if I can smoothly go into high school. When in primary school, I had a wonderful childhood with the help of caring people in school and the community.

They detected cancer to my mum during her examination. I was afraid after knowing it, afraid that my mother’s illness could not be cured. Arrived to the hospital, the doctors of Lijiang were powerless. We received the help of my parents’ factory boss, so that my mother was admitted to Kunming Cancer hospital. All the economy of our house was being used in my mum’s treatment. After two years of treatment, her mother’s condition finally got better. However, every once a while she had to go to Kunming hospital to check. For every check we needed a lot of money, we borrowed it from relatives. Both relatives and friends were willing to help our family, but it wasn’t enough, so we had to ask for a loan to the bank.

Now my mom’s health is good and sometimes bad. She wants to go to the fields to work but we do not let her. But she insists on, I am very worried about mom. The financial conditions at home are getting worse, expenses are high, my mom’s treatment is very costly, we have to pay for the basic necessities. Our life is very simple. My father’s hair has turned white, his body is becoming thin and pallid, I am worried about him not being able to carry on and fall.

I am very grateful for those who helped me. I will study hard and bear all the difficulties that will come across. I wish to fulfil my dream – becoming a doctor, to treat those who are in the same predicament as me. I wish to have high ambitions, to advance bravely.
